Today we find ourselves dealing with an unprecedented situation. The COVID-19 pandemic has been intense and dynamic for all of us in the past weeks. We have been asking questions that would have seemed unthinkable just a few weeks ago. With so many changes happening on a daily basis, I wanted to share the actions we are taking at Joan.
Supporting Our Employees
Our first priority has been to keep our team safe. One way to do this, according to medical professionals, has been to encourage social distancing. We have implemented work from home policies to limit our employees’ exposure. At the same time, we adjusted our production processes to improve safety – but it’s been crucial to do so while maintaining the ability to remain connected, productive and work securely.
Supporting Our Business Continuity
Millions of people use our solutions & technology every day. We take it with great pride and responsibility, so we have given business continuity a lot of consideration over the years.
Over the last couple of months, our partner, supply chain, customer support, production, and IT teams have been preparing for this pandemic. The dynamic situation has certainly caused unpredictability, as we all have experienced, but our infrastructure, manufacturing, supply and logistics teams have been continuously focusing on uninterrupted operations and product availability.
Supporting Each Other
By now it’s clear that we’re currently fighting this situation on at least two battlefields. While social distancing and isolation keep us healthy, the economy is slowing down and our businesses are facing challenges of lost deals, lower investments, and the overall economic crunch. To reverse the trend, perhaps now more than ever, it’s necessary to establish clear and solid communication.
We already see that, across the world, organizations are minimizing travel and maximizing the use of UCC and VC technologies and we notice a strong increase in the use of technologies supporting the everyday work dynamics. Companies are looking at ways to optimize the use of available resources and are looking at ways to optimize efficient, effective and safe collaboration. We at Joan are supporting organizations in this effort and our R&D team is already working on a new work from home functionality to lighten the load and support people & organizations to meet better in these new circumstances.
