COMM-TEC Awards 2018

“And the Joan award goes to … ”

On November 26, the second edition of the Italian COMM-TEC Awards took place at the Ferrari museum in Maranello, Italy. More than 200 people between companies’ and resellers’ representatives attended the event to celebrate some of the biggest and most recent achievements in the AV and digital signage industries in Europe.

Yes, exceptionally beautiful Ferraris were on display for visitors to dream about, but that’s as far as they could go (if not counting the F1 driving simulator): the cars were constantly guarded and were basically untouchable.
Pity.

Going to back to the main event: big names like Mike Blackman, Managing Director at ISE and Wolfgang Lanz, CEO at COMM-TEC attended the event, so, Joan couldn’t miss it.
In fact, not only we had a good reason to attend, but it was also a special evening as we were handing out our very own Joan award.

The criteria adopted by COMM-TEC to determine the winner of the award amongst all the resellers were simple and yet ambitious: the biggest, most high-end and most influential deployment would snatch the prize from the competition.

And so it happened.

The award went to system integrator Longwave for their Joan deployment at Technogym Village, the most innovative wellness center in the world. Spread on a 150 thousand square meters space in Cesena, Italy, Technogym Village is an innovation hub completely dedicated to the research and cultural education that revolves around wellness.

Giulio Borghi, Product Manager of AV Collaboration at Longwave told us why Technogym ultimately decided to deploy Joan for their headquarters.

“It’s an interesting product. It sets itself apart from the other meeting room booking systems thanks to its simplicity, but also thanks to its look. It reminds you of an e-reader and that is different from every other system on the market. Its simplicity allows it to stand out, but never to become the center of attention. It helps you manage the meeting rooms discreetly and efficiently. This is exactly what our customer wanted,” he said.

Inside the all-glass towering headquarters, Technogym houses over 700 employees between assembly personnel and office staff. So, being chosen as the main solution to help manage the time of this kind of manpower is not only flattering but also proof that Joan is in line with the needs of businesses.

Especially in this case, as Stefano Mazzacani, Business Manager of AV Collaboration at Longwave confirms.

“Please forgive the slogan, but I’d say ‘Where there’s glass, there’s Joan’. In this case, with Technogym, it was exactly like this: an all-glass structure and no solution that could integrate seamlessly and discreetly. No solution, apart from Joan,” he said.

This kind of feedback makes us every day more aware of how sustainable a solution Joan is and we are confident that attending the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi will allow us to showcase just that.
